A Boston man has been arrested following an attack on an elderly man at Quincy Center Station.
MBTA Transit Police say that at around 2:30 p.m. Friday officers responded to a report of an assault.
Upon arrival, officers found a 92-year-old man bleeding from his head and a concerned citizen attempting to control the bleeding.
Witnesses pointed out a man, later identified as 49-year-old Armando Hernandez, as the assailant.
He was immediately sought out by officers who observed his “inebriated state and uncooperative disposition.”
The victim told police he was forcefully shoved from behind which caused him to fall to the ground striking his head on the pavement.
Police say the attack was unprovoked and that the victim and Hernandez don’t know each other.
Hernandez was arrested on a charge of Assault & Battery on an Elderly Person with injuries and the victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
