As Florida braces for Hurricane Ian, one former West Bridgewater resident discussed preparations being taken at Tampa International Airport.
Frank Micciantuno told the South Shore’s Morning News that while he is expecting an impact, his situation is not as precarious as it is for others in the region.
He says highways in that region are jammed as folks try to escape from Hurricane Ian.
Micciantuno says he’s been taking advice from lifelong Floridians on the best way to respond to the storm.
The Associated Press says that Florida has staged 30,000 linemen, urban search and rescue teams and 7,000 National Guard troops ready to help once the weather clears.
