An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was struck by a commuter rail train in Whitman.
MBTA Transit Police say that at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday a female, between 16 to 19 years old, intentionally entered the right of way approximately 1,000 yards south of Whitman Station and was struck by an outbound MBTA commuter rail train.
She was pronounced dead as a result of the injuries she sustained from the strike.
The incident remains under investigation.
