In Plymouth, early voting for the special election to determine whether or not to ban the sale of nips in town begins Saturday, the 6th—the election is Saturday, January 13th.

And January 13th is the Saturday of Martin Luther King day weekend, so Town Clerk Kelley McElreath has advice for people who are planning on not being in town that day:
“Please make other arrangements to vote. You have the option of voting by mail. We have vote-by-mail applications on the website.”
And in-person early voting is available…
“…that‘s going to start on Saturday, January 6th, from 9 to 3, here at town hall. And then of course you can vote on election day. Polls are open at the normal polling locations at 7 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m.”
Early voting continues at town hall On January 8, 9 and 10th.
A ban on the sale of nips, effective July 1st, was approved by Town Meeting last October by a narrow margin. And, in order for the special election to occur, petitioners opposed to the ban had to submit the signatures of 3% of registered voters—and that had to be done ten days from the date of Town Meeting which occurred on October 21st. The required number was 1459 signatures and petitioners collected 1810.
