Overnight Break-In At Derby Street Shoppes In Hingham

Hingham Police are investigating an overnight break-in at a local business.
Police say that shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday officers were dispatched to the Derby Street Shoppes in response to a burglar alarm activation at the Lunette Optic store at 92 Derby St.
Upon arrival they found one of the front doors smashed, a pry bar on the sidewalk in front of the store and a large rock on the floor inside the business and several display cases that had been forced open.
Police say the suspect(s) attempted to pry open the front door with the pry bar then smashed the glass door with a rock and stole glasses.
At this time the number of items stolen has not yet been determined.
This incident remains under investigation.
