Our Pet of the Week is Nelson, an adorable kitty in the care of Standish Humane Society. But today we’re not asking for your help in getting Nelson adopted just yet. Today we’re asking, if you can, to help support Nelson’s recovery.
Nelson was found outside when a good samaritan saw him crawling around, unable to walk. He was rushed to a veterinarian where they asked if Standish would take over his care. And they agreed to. It was determined, through examination, that he had multiple bite wounds consistent with a coyote attack. He has a mangled front and back leg and now has drains and bandages to be cleaned and removed weekly. Standish Humane Society is asking for donations to help them help Nelson. He is super sweet and will be available for adoption after his quarantine and treatments are completed. The veterinarians will determine if he needs a leg removed, so it is possible we are looking at a potential amputation. If you are in a position to help support Nelson, the team at Standish Humane is so thankful to this caring community. You can connect with Standish via their website https://www.standishhumane.org/ and tune in to Paws n Claws on Tuesday, March 5 at 9:20 when Standish Humane Society’s Joyce Keyes will join Rob to talk more about Nelson.
