A Whitman child was rescued after being trapped in a chimney.

Fire Chief Timothy Clancy says that crews responded to an incident at 143 Harvard St. shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday after receiving a 911 call for a 10-year-old child that had climbed out a second floor window and into the chimney of his home.

Firefighters arrived on scene and used a ladder to access the roof where the child was stuck in the top of the chimney from the waist down.

The child was quickly removed without incident and didn’t sustain any injuries.

No further information is available at this time.
