In Plymouth—although there may be more than just a few proposals for overrides in surrounding towns, such as Duxbury, where voters turned down a $5.8 million Proposition 2 ½ override last month, and Hanson, last week, proposing a $3 million tax override to avoid service cuts, and on Tuesday Milton voters gave their approval to a $9.5 million dollar override, but in Plymouth, Town Manager Derek Brindisi has positive news about the town’s finances.

Town Manager Derek Brindisi:
“The Town of Plymouth, financially, is in a great position. Our Finance Director Lynne Barrett, working very closely with the business team over at the School Department, have done a tremendous job developing the FY26 budget.
But, Brindisi adds this:
“It wasn’t easy. We had to make cuts—and those cuts will affect services to a small degree—but we were able to balance the budget and not have to even have conversation about overriding.”
And as far as the town’s financial future is concerned, the Town Manager says:
“Quite frankly, I don’t think we’ll have a conversation about overriding for years to come.”
