If you’re familiar with the hit movie, Matilda, then you probably know there is some extra magic to be had with the name. Now meet the lady dog that embodies that magic as well: Matilda, a.k.a. Tilly!
Matilda is a 50 pound pit mix who is around 4 years old and is looking for her fur-ever home where she can show you the daily magic life holds. Tilly is a sweetie pie and a cuddle professional. She has 3 legs but has a “leg up” on her affections towards others:
Matilda didn’t lose a leg, she dropped the dead weight and leveled up. With tripod confidence and a stare that says “bless your heart,” Tilly delivers grace, sass, and main character energy wherever she goes. Tilly is affectionate, curious, and loyal to her people. Once you’re in her circle, she’ll be your forever shadow, side-eye and all.
She loves going for leisurely walks in the evenings, and wrapping herself up in cozy blankets. A great companion for you if your hobbies are aligned (and who doesn’t enjoy a nice stroll and a good couch session!?).
Buddy and Friends Animal Rescue says she would work best in a slower-paced home with no other animals.
Now look at the cuteness of Matilda’s face, fall in love, and take the first steps to bringing her home! Get all the information below.

Buddy & Friends Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization based in Pembroke, MA. We are NOT a shelter facility and rely solely on the backbone of our rescue which is fosters and volunteers. We exist to rescue and re-home dogs that would not have a chance otherwise. We are the voice for the voiceless.
We take pride in educating the public on rescue dogs and the spay/neuter crisis in the south. We pull animals from McNairy Humane Society in TN and assist local animal control with owner surrenders.
Each year, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized (670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats).
Our end goal is the same of many other rescues to provide a fur-ever happy home to our animals.
All donations to support the rescue efforts are tax deductible. Tax ID # 84-4752460
Sharing our animals that need to be adopted, sharing of your ideas, sharing your contacts or resources, donations big & small, are truly appreciated!
