A Braintree woman was hospitalized while hiking in New Hampshire Saturday afternoon.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department says that shortly before 3:30 p.m. they received a report of a hiker who slipped and fell between 50–100 feet down Mount Pierce near a scenic overlook.
The hiker, identified as Meghan Mason, was located on Crawford Path and on a spur trail.
Officials say that due to the location and rugged terrain, rescuers from the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS), Androscoggin Valley Search and Rescue Team, and Twin Mountain Fire and Rescue were called to assist.
Mason was carried down to the trailhead by volunteers where an awaiting ambulance transported her to Littleton Regional Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
