Weymouth voters elected the town’s fourth mayor in Tuesday’s election.

Longtime town councilor Michael Molisse ran unopposed receiving 6,699 votes.

Molisse has been serving as interim mayor after Bob Hedlund stepped down in July.

In a surprise upset, District One councilor and town council vice president Pascale Burga was defeated by challenger Kathy Kelly by 120 votes.

Kelly received 932 votes to Burga’s 812.

District 2 will also have a new councilor.

Rebecca Sherlock-Shangraw defeated Edward Cowen by over 300 votes.

In the councilor-at-large race, incumbents Fred Happel, Christopher Heffernan, and Richard Coughlin were reelected and will be joined by newcomers Andrew Ryan Donovan and Stephen Shinney.

The other district councilor races were unopposed.

For school committee, Kelly McClean, Cindy Lyons and Ashley Dickerman won the three seats.
