Eversource Power Outage Update

In the Blackmount neighborhood of Marshfield an Eversource worker starts the process of restoring power along Webster Street.The dig out starts after over two feet of snow was dumped on the area in the blizzard of 26 on Tuesday February 24, 2026

Eversource officials say they are making progress restoring power and just about everyone will have their lights back on by tonight.

Director of electric operations Doug Foley said that of yesterday afternoon, power had been restored to more than 426,000 customers.

The remaining 43,000 should have their power back tonight. 

Marshfield, Scituate and Plymouth were expected to be fully restored last night.

The utility says that the majority of Duxbury has had its electrical service restored. 

Duxbury town manager Rene Reid says that the National Guard is assisting with snow removal.

A warming center at the senior center remains open.

Brockton officials say that MassDOR and the National Guard are assisting with snow removal in the city.

The South Shore coastal towns and Cape Cod were the hardest hit by Monday’s blizzard that dumped over two feet of snow accompanied by 70 mile per hour wind gusts.
