Eversource officials say they are making progress restoring power and just about everyone will have their lights back on by tonight.
Director of electric operations Doug Foley said that of yesterday afternoon, power had been restored to more than 426,000 customers.
The remaining 43,000 should have their power back tonight.
Marshfield, Scituate and Plymouth were expected to be fully restored last night.
The utility says that the majority of Duxbury has had its electrical service restored.
