UPDATE: Breaking News Update: According to Marshfield Police, Callahan Pierce has been located in Duxbury. The 8-year-old is being taken to a local hospital for an evaluation after a night in the cold with temperatures below freezing. He will be reunited with his family there. Marshfield police say thank you to the public for everyone’s support and assistance.
Marshfield police are conducting an intensive search for a missing 8-year-old boy.
Callahan Pierce was last seen around 7 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 236 Moraine Street and hasn’t been seen since.
He was wearing a black Marshfield sweatshirt, black sweatpants and carrying a backpack.
A command post was set up on Red Gold Farm Road, just off Moraine Street near the boy’s home.
Numerous police officers and firefighters could be seen searching the neighborhood and backyards as drones and the state police helicopter flew overhead.
Some residents were also assisting the search.
Just before midnight, the Plymouth County Technical Rescue unit was sent to the scene aid in the search.
Police are asking residents in the area to check their surveillance cameras to see if Callahan may be on the footage.
Although they appreciate the public’s offer to help with the search, police are asking people to stay away from the area since it could interfere with the police dogs and infrared cameras.
