A Randolph teen is facing charges following an incident at a local prom.

Kingston Police say that at approximately 7:15 p.m.Thursday officers were dispatched to Indian Pond Country Club for a disturbance during the South Shore Technical High School Prom.

An officer working detail called for backup after getting reports that a male had been displaying a firearm in the parking lot.

An initial investigation revealed that 18-year-old Adrian Arroyo was engaged in a verbal argument which escalated when he was joined in the parking lot with two female attendees.

Arroyo wasn’t a student at the school but was attending the prom due to a previous relationship with an attendee.

At one point he allegedly threatened to strike a student with his vehicle and brandished a black firearm, which was described as a black semi-automatic style pistol, pointing it into the air, and appearing to “rack” the weapon.

Arroyo was eventually located in his Randolph residence and taken into custody.

Officers then obtained a search warrant and found a black Crossman BB gun replica pistol stored in the glovebox of a vehicle.

Police say there were no firearms located and the BB gun matched the physical description by the victims.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Arroyo was scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning in Plymouth District Court on charges including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
