Two men were injured following an attack in a basement apartment.
Brockton Police say that at around 2 a.m. Sunday officers responded to 205 Pleasant St. over reports of a possible shooting.
Upon arrival they found two adult men suffering from injuries consistent with a stabbing and an assault involving a beer bottle.
Both men were transported to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
During the course of their investigation officers arrested 33-year-old Mexil Wawens of Brockton and charged him with two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
Police say it was later determined that no shots had been fired during the incident, which remains under investigation.
