A Plympton man is facing sexual assault and drug charges.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says that early Tuesday morning Plympton Police received a call from the Randolph Police Department stating a woman had reported being sexually assaulted at a residence on West St. in Plympton.
The victim sustained severe injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The victim identified 34-year-old Stephen Bresnahan as the alleged attacker and Plympton officers went to the West St. address and Bresnahan was taken into custody.
The District Attorney’s Office says that Bresnahan started displaying symptoms of suspected drug use and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Upon his release from the hospital Bresnahan was transported to Plymouth District Court where he was arraigned on charges of Aggravated Rape, Strangulation or Suffocation, Witness Intimidation, Assault and Battery on a Household/Family Member, two counts of Drug Possession and a separate count of Drug Possession with Intent to Distribute.
A dangerousness hearing has been scheduled for June 17.
