Three more former Red Line MBTA employees have been indicted in a conspiracy case involving track inspections.
The US Attorney’s Office says 37-year-old Matthew Leonard, of Easton; and 45-year-old Magda Trinh, of Avon, 37-year-old Danny Barbosa, of Dorchester were arrested last Friday and faced a federal judge in Boston.
They are among a total of seven MBTA workers charged in this expanding federal case, two of whom are from the South Shore.
Prosecutors say the Red Line maintenance workers falsified train numbers on their inspection reports, rather than completing train rides as required.
Last Friday, prosecutors added conspiracy and other charges against the four employees who were first indicted in May last year and charged the three additional employees.
The South Shore suspects are 43-year-old Jensen Vatel, of Brockton and 48-year-old Brian Pfaffinger, of Marshfield.
All four pleaded not guilty to falsifying records and conspiring to commit wire fraud in federal court in Boston last May.
Attorneys for the defendants have yet to comment.
