Controlled Burn Planned at Scituate Transfer Station

The Scituate Fire Department will be conducting a controlled burn at the transfer station this morning (Wednesday) beginning at ten.

The purpose of the burn is to destroy expired marine flares that have been collected at Station One.

A technician from the State Fire Marshal’s Office will assist Scituate firefighters.

Residents are being advised there may be smoke in the area of the transfer station during the controlled burn.
