Holbrook police have tracked down the driver wanted in a hit and run pedestrian accident.

Holbrook Police Chief David Del Papa says that a 66-year-old Brockton man, whose name was not released, will be summoned to court on a charge of leaving the scene of a personal injury crash.

Police say a 15-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle on North Shore Road while walking home from a nearby school bus stop on the afternoon of September 16th.

The vehicle took off after the crash.

Chief Del Papa says that detectives obtained surveillance footage that showed a charcoal-colored Chrysler minivan traveling from the area around the time of the crash.

Additional surveillance footage allowed detectives to identify a partial license plate.

Detectives then used the partial plate and vehicle description to conduct a search using automated license plate reader cameras.

Utilizing information obtained through the cameras in Holbrook-area communities, detectives were able to identify a 2020 Chrysler Voyager and track the vehicle’s movements on the day of the crash.

Detectives subsequently located the vehicle and identified its owner and operator.

Police also observed damage to the vehicle that investigators determined was consistent with a pedestrian crash.

The driver is scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Nov. 4th.
