The Town of Marshfield has closed the Skate Park and Adam Keeler Street Hockey Rink.

Town Administrator Michael Maresco made the announcement on Friday saying that rising COVID numbers lead to this decision.

Signage was put in place at both facilities that required the wearing of masks, an educational initiative was launched through the distribution of hand cards with safety information, and the town hired an employee to hand out face masks and hand cards.

However, Maresco says that after “weeks of discussion and education” they were left no other choice than to close them to “protect the health and welfare of our residents and our children.”

The facilities will remain closed until further notice.
