A lockdown was ordered at Pierce Middle School in Milton.
Superintendent James Jette says the lockdown was initiated shortly after 10 a.m. Friday after live ammunition (bullet) was found in the sink of a second floor bathroom.
Milton Police were called to the scene with assistance being provided by the Quincy Police Department and the Boston Police Department.
Shortly before 1:15 p.m. Jette said that Milton Police were “making one final sweep of the Pierce Middle School before lifting the lockdown,” and that they have “transitioned from Lockdown to a Stay-in-Place status and students are in their classrooms.”
