Meet our Pet of the Week, Bella

by | Feb 16, 2025 | Pet of the Week

Meet Bella from Quincy Animal Shelter! She is a professional pooch in the way that she is 8 years old, and has the doggy-training skillset to thrive in your home, there are just some things Bella needs to truly be at peace with you. Quincy Animal Shelter is looking for a quiet, calm, and predictable household for Bella, and it is preferable that the house has a dog-friendly yard for Bella to get some fresh air and exercise.

Unfortunately, she is not the best fit for people with existing pets in the home as she can be reactive towards small dogs and likes to keep her circle of friends and family tight. If you aren’t much of a social butterfly either, Bella would be a great fit for you. What Bella is though, is a big fan of her own family and owner. She will give you lots of loyalty, affection, and cuddles. With her bright amber eyes, and chocolatey, silky coat, Bella is a mature cutie ready for a new fur-ever home.

If you have experience with dogs or being a dog owner, and you’re ready to bring a new friend home, then please contact adoptions@quincyanimalshelter.org

Fees and Donations:

Owen’s adoption fee is $375.

Your non-refundable adoption fee helps us to continue our high level of care for all the animals. QAS accepts cash and credit cards.

All Quincy Animal Shelter residents are current on vaccinations appropriate for their age before being cleared for adoption. All of our animals are spayed/neutered prior to being adopted. Kittens are spayed/neutered when they reach a minimum weight of 2 lbs. and are at least 8 weeks old.

Please read these adoption considerations here before considering adoption

All adopters must agree:

To provide a loving home, including proper medical care and humane treatment at all times.
The animal will not be used for experimentation or be sold.
Dogs will not be allowed off leash outdoors except in a completely fenced in area.
The animal will receive annual veterinary checkups that include rabies vaccinations as required by law.
Dogs will be licensed annually as required by local law.
If for any reason the adopter needs to give up the animal, it will be returned to Quincy Animal Shelter.
Ownership of the animal will be terminated if at any time the adopter does not live up to these terms.
Quincy Animal Shelter does not sell animals. Adoption donations are tax-deductible, voluntary contributions, and are not refundable under any circumstances.

Become a Foster Care Family

We always try to foster kittens out/away from the shelter. We are always looking for Foster Care Volunteers. It is usually a 5 to 8 week period. We provide food, litter and medical care. We also take care of the adoptions. All you need is a separate area from your own animals and some TLC. We would prefer that you live in the Quincy area. In case of medical emergency, we like to have people who live nearby and could transport the animal to either the shelter or one of the area vets used by QAS. If you are interested, please click here for more information.

Donating to QAS

Quincy Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and a recognized Massachusetts charity. QAS EIN is 31-1703439.

Your donation to QAS may qualify for an income tax deduction in accordance with Federal and/or State income tax laws. Please consult with your tax advisor to determine whether your donation is tax deductible in whole or in part.
