Abington Man Charged With Pouring Gasoline On Police Chief’s Cruiser

An Abington man is facing charges after police say he was caught pouring gasoline on the Police Chief’s Cruiser.

Police say that at approximately 9 a.m. Friday a Lieutenant noticed a male pouring gasoline on the cruiser which was in a marked spot designated for the Chief at police headquarters.

The suspect, later identified as 39-year-old Franklin Cederholm, was in possession of 2 gallons of gasoline and a lighter.

Police say he was taken into custody without incident and he will be charged with attempted arson, malicious damage to a motor vehicle and trespass.

The incident remains under investigation and police say additional charges will be added “where appropriate.”
