Three people were displaced following a two-alarm fire in East Bridgewater Saturday night.

East Bridgewater Fire officials say that shortly before 7 p.m. crews were dispatched to 8 Andrew Rd. after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting smoke in a 2 1/2-story residential building.

Firefighters arrived on scene and saw smoke from inside the building and were able to trace the fire to the finished attic of one of the middle units in the row of eight condominiums.

Officials say crews faced challenges due to the location of the fire along with solar panels covering the front portion of the roof.

They also say ground conditions prevented crews from positioning the department’s tower ladder at the rear of the building.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and cleared the scene shortly after 10 p.m., but three units experienced smoke, fire and water damage.

West Bridgewater, Bridgewater, Halifax, Abington, Rockland and Brockton Fire Departments provided mutual aid.

Hanson provided station coverage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation but officials say preliminary findings suggest the fire may be electrical in nature.
