New Councilor Elected for District One
Bridgewater incumbent councilor-at-large John Loretti was ousted by newcomer Michaela Spagone while incumbent Paul Murphy retained his seat in Saturday’s town election.
Spagone was the top vote getter with 1,261 votes and Murphy receiving 1,150.
Loretti received 854.
Timothy Trocchio is the new the District One town councilor besting challengers Robert Cormier and Joel Thomas.
Trocchio received 403 votes, Cormier 356, and Thomas 329.
The other races were unopposed.
There were three ballot questions.
Voters turned down a proposal for town council stipends by 1,422 to 503.
A proposal to allow the assistant town manager to serve as a temporary town manager in his absence was approved, 1,521 to 388
And voters approved shifting the authority of appointing an ad hoc committee from the town manager to the town council by a vote of 1,147 to 736.
