Officials have released the name of the teen killed in a crash Wednesday morning.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office has identified the deceased driver as 17-year-old Sebastian Hamilton.
The crash took place shortly before 8 a.m. when Abington Police observed a Hyundai Santa Fe that had previously been reported stolen.
They attempted to make a motor vehicle stop when the District Attorney’s office says it appears the motor vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree at 877 Washington St.
There were five passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash and one of them, identified only as a female, was ejected from the motor vehicle.
The three other passengers, a male and two females, sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken to area hospitals, then transported to Boston hospitals for treatment.
The District Attorney’s Office says Hamilton was pinned inside the motor vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The other passengers are being treated at area hospitals, their names and current conditions haven’t been released.
The incident remains under investigation by Abington Police and the Massachusetts State Police.
