An application denied by the state of New Hampshire to put a historical marker by a road, in Haverill, where Hanson native Maura Murray was last seen in 2004 is not stopping Murray’s family from appealing the decision.
Maura’s sister, Julie Murray, says the reasons that were cited in the denial were three-fold including a 50-year historic requirement, lack of broad community support, and the road shape was unsuitable for the marker.
Murray says the 50-year requirement is not anywhere in NH law or criteria listed on the NH historical marker website.
Murray added that there is massive support for the marker, and as for the location…
Murray says she feels the NH Division of Historical Resources is not looking at the request fairly.
Murray is asking people to call or email New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu to ask for his support.
