In Plymouth, State Senator Susan Moran is co-sponsoring a bill to subsidize child-care costs for young families, this initiative is called the Common Start Bill.
Bobbi Clark files this report:
Senator Susan Moran says the goal is to help young families with the cost of child-care:
“It’s really an economic engine to help people get back to work. It’s going to cover from birth to 5 years full time, and then during school-age, 5 to 12 after school, and for special needs kids up to 15.”
And, according to Moran the bill is also going to help child-care workers…
“…and professionals in education to be able to raise their level of education so they can improve their profession and it’s going to help people that own child-care businesses with their costs. So this is the Trifecta of an economic engine that’s going to help the businesses of child-care, the workers of child-care, and most most importantly, parents and their children get that head-start and that firm education, right from the get-go.”
The Common Start Bill has been filed and sponsors of the bill are gathering support at state house.
