A child was hospitalized after being struck by a bus near a Braintree school.
Braintree Police say that at approximately 2:40 p.m. Friday they received several 911 calls reporting a serious motor vehicle collision between a Braintree Public Schools bus and a child in the area of 46 Hillside Rd. near East Junior High School.
The 11-year-old girl was found under the bus, but was said to be conscious and alert.
Crews were able to extricate the girl from underneath the bus and she was transported to a Boston hospital with what appear to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the Braintree Police Department with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police.
