Duxbury’s Fire Chief Kevin Nord is retiring after 44 years on the job, 18 of those years in Duxbury.

Chief Nord spent 26 years in Kingston before finishing his career in Duxbury, he says it’s bittersweet.

Duxbury Select board member Michael McGee spoke for the board and the town and thanked Chief Nord for his service.

Chief Nord officially retires July 15th and has planned a trip this summer.
Nord plans to cross the country on his motorcycle on the well-known Trans American Trail.

Chief Nord will post updates on his cross-country trip on the Duxbury Fire Departments social media and you’ll be able to follow him on his daily experiences along the way. Duxbury Deputy Chief Rob Reardon has been officially named as the town’s new Fire Chief effective July 15th.
