A Duxbury woman was arraigned on charges in connection to the deaths of her three children.
Lindsay Clancy, 32, was arraigned in Plymouth District Court from her hospital bed via Zoom. Not guilty pleas were entered on her behalf.
Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague says Clancy planned to kill her three children with exercise bands while her husband went to a pharmacy and got takeout from a Plymouth restaurant.
She is facing charges that include murder, strangulation, and assault and battery in connection to the deaths of 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan Clancy.
Lindsay Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, says Clancy was struggling with mental health issues and was taking a variety of medications.
Clancy has extensive injuries after a reported suicide attempt, where she fell 20-feet from her bedroom window. Her doctors say she has rib and spinal fractures, and will likely be paraplegic.
Sprague said Clancy was examined by psychologist Paul Zeizel, and used his cell phone to call her husband.
Judge John Canavan ordered that Clancy remain at a hospital until she’s medically cleared. No monetary bail was set in the case.
A probable cause hearing was scheduled for May 2nd.
