A Quincy man shot during a alleged road rage incident in Stoughton has been arrested.
Stoughton Police say that on Wednesday night at around 9 p.m. 39-year-old Anh Kieu encountered a man at 7/11 on Washington St. in Canton where he allegedly pointed a gun at him.
The victim then ran to his friend’s car, a black Nissan Altima, and told the other three occupants in the vehicle what had happened and the car left the parking lot.
Kieu, who was driving a white Cadillac, is accused of following the Altima causing the Altima to drive at a high rate of speed to get away from Kieu.
Witnesses say that upon reaching the intersection of Pearl St. and Central St. in Stoughton, Kieu crossed the double yellow line and into the opposite lane of traffic, pulled up to the Altima, and pointed a revolver at the car.
Police say the driver of the Altima, who has a valid license to carry and a properly registered firearm, yelled for his friends to get down and fired 7 rounds into the Cadillac striking Kieu one time.
The chase continued until the crash at the intersection of Plain St. and West St.
Police say they recovered a black pellet gun, an SNR 357 revolver from Kieu’s car and he has been charged with four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violations.
Police say that this is an active investigation, but at this time they do not think charges will be filed against the driver of the Altima.
