An early morning East Bridgewater fire destroyed a family home.
According to Chief Timothy Harhen, a passerby called to report the fire. Crews responded to 243 Whitman Street, at 12:56 this morning.
Nobody was home when the fire started, but three dogs perished in the incident.
Mutual aid was provided by Bridgewater and Whitman, with station coverage from West Bridgewater.
Harhen says the fire started in a garage and spread to the home.
The cause of the fire, leaving the house a total loss, is still under investigation by the East Bridgewater Fire Department and State Investigators.
WATD’s Charlie Fulmer contributed to this report.
