A Mattapan man is facing charges in connection with an assault on a Dunkin’ employee.
Plymouth Police say that officers were dispatched Thursday morning to Dunkin’ across from the Police Station for a report of a disturbance.
Upon arrival they saw several people leaving quickly and pointing to a man by the counter.
Officers saw broken food bags, dollar bills, and various coins on the floor by the man who was yelling uncontrollably at a female clerk who was holding back tears and had a visible injury to her face.
They tried to get the man to stop yelling, but he refused.
The clerk told officers the man was angry about his order, punched her in the face, and tried to steal her tip jar.
He also ripped open bags of food making a mess of the store.
The man was asked by several Dunkin employees to leave, but refused.
He refused to identify himself to Officers for a trespass order, refused to leave, and refused to stop yelling.
He was taken into custody for Assault and Battery, Trespassing, Disorderly Conduct and Attempting to commit a crime; to wit, larceny of the tip jar.
The man was later identified as 27-year-old Gestanley Jean.
