There was no shortage of turnover from a Milton group that fell just short of a state title in their first appearance at Gillette Stadium last season.
Bill Wilhelm Award finalist Owen McHugh is gone, as well as some of his favorite targets like Mike Fulton and Luke Sammon.
As the 2023 Wildcats captains are keenly aware, they “aren’t walking back through that door” either.

That didn’t stop Milton from issuing a beatdown to the Scituate Sailors in their Week 1 matchup, however.
The Cats looked just as dominant as their previous iteration, and cruised to a 42-14 win.
Depth appears to be a strength once again, as does quarterback play with Patrick Miller filling McHugh’s shoes well on opening night.
On this week’s Sports Exchange, we spoke with the Milton captains about what allowed them to find such resounding success right away, and what will allow them to sustain it as they look to become a Super Bowl weekend fixture.
