Evacuations were ordered after a bomb threat was called in to a Hingham synagogue Sunday afternoon.
Hingham Police say that shortly before 1:30 p.m. an employee inside Congregation Sha’aray Shalom at 1112 Main St. received an email that warned bombs were in the synagogue.
Explosive detection dogs from Quincy Police and Massachusetts State Police searched the building and no explosive devices were found.
Nearby homes were evacuated and Main St. was closed in both directions before reopening around 3:15 p.m.
