A Brockton man was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) for allegedly selling fentanyl.
The U.S.Attorney’s Office says that twenty-nine-year-old Joshua Tavares was charged in Boston federal court with possessing and distributing one hundred or more grams of fentanyl.
He is being held pending a court appearance on Friday.
Authorities say that Tavares sold one hundred grams of fentanyl to a cooperating witness that was captured on video.
During searches of his residence and multiple stash houses, investigators say they found fentanyl, cocaine, over eighty-nine-thousand-dollars in cash, two firearms, one with a machine gun conversion device, and drug packing material.
Authorities say that Tavares was on probation for a 2019 fentanyl conviction, and on pretrial release for a separate drug arrest in March.
