Scituate voters elected two new select board members and approved two ballot questions in Saturday’s annual town election.
Freya Schlegel and Nicolai Afanasenko won select board seats, defeating opponents Maryanne Lewis and David Dauphinee.
Afanasenko received the most votes, 2,044, while Schlegel garnered 1,788.
Lewis received 1,250 votes and Dauphinee, 1,064.
Voters approved a debt exclusion to fund the town’s share of the construction cost of the new South Shore Regional Technical School. There were 1,967 in favor and 925 opposed.
The non-binding question also passed, 2,615 to 275. This requests town officials contact the governor and state legislators to enforce a ruling prohibiting the discharge of radioactive wastewater from the former Pilgrim Nuclear Power plant in Plymouth that is being dismantled.
In the only other contested race, William Geary defeated Francis Buckley for a housing authority vacancy. Geary beat Buckley 1,480 to 892.
Other races were unopposed.
Maura Curran, moderator, 2,479; library trustees Kevin Carleton, 2,227 and Elizabeth Holthaus, 2,284.
Kate Leahy, housing authority 2,313, and John Danehey, assessor, 2,288.
For school committee, Nicole Brandolini, 2,344 and Carey Borkoski, 2,340.
Planning board, Stephen Pritchard, 2,281 and Ann Burbine, 2,234.
