A man charged in connection with a double shooting in Brockton has been ordered held without bail.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office said on Tuesday that twenty-three-year-old Davinci Leonard entered a plea of not guilty to two counts of murder, discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, carrying ammunition without an FID card, and carrying a loaded firearm without a license.
Leonard was arrested in Mexico by U.S. Marshals on February 12th, nearly a year after shooting outside the Chipotle restaurant at the Westgate Mall that resulted in the deaths of fifteen-year-old Tymari Albertson and 18-year-old Cevannah Alvarez both died from gunshot wounds.
Cruz says that Leonard fled the scene after the March 22nd, 2025 shooting and was on the run until being captured last month.
Authorities arrested two acquaintances for helping Leonard evade capture.
Thirty-two-year-old David Mossley-Lott of Quincy and twenty-four-year-old Jaylen Speed of Dorchester were both indicted for being accessory after the fact and intimidating a witness.
