Duxbury Town Meeting voters on Saturday approved a $1.8 million operating budget override and a $1.75 million feasibility study of the Alden Elementary School.
Town officials said that the override was needed to cover increasing costs that are not keeping pace with revenue.
The override will restore several positions including two police officers and two firefighter/paramedics.
The override also restores two elementary school teachers and a school department director of technology and allows for a tuition-free full-day kindergarten.
It will be up to voters at the March 28th town election to approve the override before it goes into effect.
The school study calls for a complete review of the condition of the 76-year-old Alden School.
Officials have said the school has major issues with heating and cooling and water leaks.
