Holbrook Police are warning the public about a scam where someone claims to be a member of the department.
Police say they have received several reports from residents who say they received a call from someone identifying themselves as “Sgt. Terry Baker.”
Sgt. Baker will then demand payment telling the individual that there is a warrant out for their arrest.
However, police say there is nobody by that name working for the Holbrook Police Department and that they would never demand money over the phone.
Anyone who receives a call like this is being advised to hang up immediately and contact your local police department directly to verify.
