Town Hall Budget Override Fails
Abington voters on Saturday approved six of seven town department funding overrides at the special election.
Voters supported providing additional funding for the schools, fire, police, public works, council on aging, and library budgets.
The one-point-seven-million-dollar school override won by just 101 votes.
The public works override passed by just 24 votes.
Voters rejected the town hall override by 284 ballots.
The town hall override failure will likely result in staffing reductions and reduced operating hours at town hall.
