Temperatures over 100 Degrees Expected Thursday and Friday
Several South Shore communities are opening cooling centers as the region is expected to experience extreme heat and humidity over the next few days.
In Marshfield, the Council on Aging and the town hall will be open tomorrow (Thursday) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The library will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the maritime center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
On Friday, the Council on Aging will also be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the maritime center from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Plymouth Center for Active Living will be open today (Wednesday) and tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m
The Salvation Army center on Long Pond Road will open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and tomorrow and Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Plymouth main library will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow, and Saturday, 10 to 3.
The Plymouth Manomet branch will be open today 9 to 5, and tomorrow 9 to 9.
The Cedarville fire station community room will be open Saturday 10 to 6.
In Weymouth, Tufts Library on Broad street will be open today and tomorrow 9 a.m. to 9 p.m .
The Weymouth Senior Center on Green Street will be open Friday and Saturday from 10 to 5.
Quincy officials said the Kennedy Center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm and the Crane Library will be open until 9 p.m.
