Hingham Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a road rage incident that led to shots fired outside the Hingham Public Library Thursday afternoon.

Police say 60-year-old Steven A. License of Hingham is facing charges including assault to murder and assault with a dangerous weapon.

License was arrested by Hingham Detectives at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth where he is currently being treated.

Officers responded to the library parking lot for reports of gunshots fired after an apparent road rage incident between a car and a truck.

Responding officers found License in the car, where he allegedly fired his gun in the parking lot during the incident.

The female driver of the car was not hurt and has yet to be identified.

Police said the gun, which he had a valid license to carry, was recovered at the scene.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in the hospital.
