Lakeville police fatally shot a man who they say was armed and acting erratically.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s office says that on Saturday afternoon around two, a Heritage Hill Drive resident came to the Lakeville police station requesting a well-being check on a family member who was disturbed and armed with a gun.
Authorities say when officers responded to the home, they encountered 31-year-old Gregory Buckley.
Police say that Buckley pointed a gun at them and he refused commands to drop the firearm.
Gunfire was exchanged and Bukley was struck.
Police immediately rendered medical aid to Buckley, and he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Four Lakeville police officers were taken to the hospital for evaluation and later released.
The district attorney’s office says that the officers were wearing body cameras and the incident is under investigation.
