Republican challenger Summer Schmaling took on incumbent Democrat Kathy LaNatra in the 12th Plymouth District in this election season.
Voters chose LaNatra of Kingston, who won over 54% of the votes, making her the winner.
The other candidate, Schmaling, says she will continue to work on the issues that she campaigned on.
The towns of Kingston, Halifax and Plympton, as well as precincts 1, 11,and 13 in Plymouth; precinct 1 in Duxbury; and precinct 1 in Middleboro, make up the 12th Plymouth district.
