In Plymouth, tonight, the Select and Planning Boards meet in joint session to vote to replace a member of the Planning Board who recently resigned.
Two people have applied for the position and one of them has a close relationship to a sitting member of the Planning Board.

One of the applicants is Frank Mand—the other is Linda McAlduff, the wife of current member of the Planning Board, Paul McAlduff.
And Paul McAlduff, who has two years left on his term, has filed disclosure papers so that he can vote for his wife to serve with him.
If appointed Linda McAlduff will serve the balance of the departing member’s term until the May election and could run for the balance of that term, which is two years.
So, if the vote tonight results in a husband and wife sitting on the Planning Board, Mr. and Mrs. McAlduff’s vote will equal 40% of the vote of a very important Board.
Decisions of the Planning Board affect the quality of life of the more than sixty-three thousand residents of this town. The Board controls subdivision regulations, for example, how wide roads can be, determines what setbacks will be allowed and is responsible for all zoning regulations.
