Duxbury Voters Decide School Committee Race, Approve New DPW Facility at Town Election

In Duxbury, voters decided a contested race for School Committee, and a ballot question for a $20.1 debt exclusion override.

With unofficial results, the ballot question to bond a new DPW facility was approved by a 1,079-503 vote.

Voters at Town Meeting approved the new DPW facility project. The remaining $5.8 million dollars would come from the water enterprise fund.

Laurel Deacon was elected to the School Committee with 1,055 votes. Kathryn Cleary was elected with 1,042 votes.

Sean Dadsetan-Foley had 893 votes.

There were 163 write-in votes for a 3-year term on the Duxbury Housing Authority. Town Clerk Susan Kelley said those results will be finalized on Monday.

All other races were uncontested.
