The Kingston Council on Aging says it has received a number of phone calls from seniors who tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a press release, after consulting with the Town Administrator and Town Nurse, it was recommended that the Senior Center close for the remainder of the week.

There will be no on-site programs, groups, or meals, and the building will be closed to the public as a precautionary measure.

The interior of the facility will be disinfected, and will be closed Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

GATRA vans will remain operational for rides to off-site appointments, and COA staff will be on hand to answer phone calls.

The building will re-open on Monday, May 23.
