A vigil was held in Duxbury for the Clancy Family at the Holy Family Church.
32-year-old Lindsay Clancy is charged in connection to the deaths of her two children, 5-year-old Cora and 3-year-old Dawson Clancy.
A 7-month-old boy is still being treated at a Boston hospital.
In the wake of tragedy, the community gathered to offer support.
“These things just don’t happen in Duxbury. It’s just a very loving and warm, friendly place. They do everything for each other,” said Diane Monaghan. “But you never expect that you’re going to have to do something in a situation like this. It’s just hard to believe.”
“I hope the family knows that we’re all behind them, and there with them in prayer and whatever other way we can do, meals, whatever we can do,” said Monaghan.
Michael Shea has been attending services at the Holy Family Church for 29 years.
“I decided that I should come out here and join whoever shows up and pray, ask for peace, ask for rehabilitation, and ask for comfort,” said Shea. “It’s depressing. It’s terrible. From what I understand, the Clancys, they’re my children’s age. I have a son who’s 35, just became a father. Whose grandson will have a birthday next Sunday, his first one. My daughter is 37.”
Police Chief Michael Carbone posted a letter, thanking people for the immense support. He says the department has mechanisms in place to ensure they have resources and support for personnel. He asked that people re-direct their donations to community and family members impacted by the incident.
